Fish roe and caviar for human consumption
Effective from 30 April 2020
The Department has updated the Fish roe and caviar for human consumption BICON Case to add an information notice to clarify that all imports of uncanned, unretorted salmon from approved countries must be sufficiently heat treated prior to import into Australian territory. Changes have also been made to align the manufacturer’s declaration requirements for retorted or canned salmon roe with the declaration requirements of the Retorted Aquatics pathway in the Retorted Goods case.
